Engagement Rings with a Natural Diamond
A natural diamond formed over billions of years deep in the Earth's mantle — no two are alike. For many couples, it is precisely this finite rarity and documented provenance that makes an engagement ring exceptional.
Every natural diamond from 0.30 ct comes with an independent certificate — most often GIA — so you hold proof of both its 4Cs and its authenticity.
- GIA certificate from 0.30 ct
- Documented, ethical provenance

What makes this choice different
Why a natural diamond
A natural diamond took shape over billions of years deep in the Earth's mantle, under immense pressure and heat, and was carried to the surface by ancient volcanic eruptions. Each diamond therefore carries its own, unrepeatable geological story — and its supply is finite. This is exactly why many couples choose a natural diamond for their engagement ring.
For us it is a choice we approach with respect: we select the diamond by its 4Cs, view it with you in person, and for diamonds from 0.30 ct we include an independent certificate. The decision between a natural and a lab-grown diamond, however, we leave entirely to you — we describe both options neutrally.
Value and rarity
The main difference of a natural diamond is not in how it looks — visually it cannot be told apart from a lab-grown one — but in the fact that it cannot be made again. It formed over billions of years and its global supply is limited. This finiteness is why many people associate fine natural diamonds with long-term retention of value.
Let's be honest, though: no one can guarantee a specific future return. The diamond market fluctuates and an engagement ring is above all a personal piece of jewellery, not an investment instrument. If retaining value matters to you, it pays to opt for a certified diamond in the higher 4C grades — that holds its value best. We are glad to help you find the right balance between size, quality and budget.
Certificate and provenance
With every natural diamond from 0.30 ct we include an independent international certificate — most often GIA. It verifies the 4Cs (cut, colour, clarity and carat weight) as well as the diamond's authenticity. You will find the certificate number right next to the diamond, and on many diamonds it is also laser-inscribed on the girdle. So you hold an independent document that describes the diamond and makes it verifiable anywhere in the world.
Provenance matters to us just as much. We source our diamonds from vetted suppliers in line with the Kimberley Process, which is designed to prevent trade in so-called conflict diamonds. For the smaller diamonds in pavé or halo settings we usually do not issue a certificate; we guarantee their quality within the ring as a whole and are happy to describe it to you.
Natural vs lab-grown diamond
Both options are real diamonds with identical physical and optical properties — the same hardness, the same refraction of light, the same sparkle. They differ in origin, rarity and price. Neither choice is "better"; it is about what you prefer.
Looking more for affordability or a larger diamond for the same budget? Take a look at engagement rings with a lab-grown diamond — we describe them just as openly and leave the choice to you.
