The princess cut is a square modified brilliant that brings round-brilliant light performance into an angular form while retaining roughly 80% of the rough crystal, against about 50% for rounds — a material efficiency that translates to better value per carat. Pavilion chevron facets determine the sparkle character: two rows per side produce bold flashes, three or four create finer, more scattered scintillation. SI1 is often eye-clean, but inclusions at the four sharp, uncut corners carry structural risk beyond cosmetic impact and should always be avoided.
