How Jewellery Is Made
From digital design to final polish — the story of five stages every Arete Diamond piece goes through.
Tradition Meets Technology
At Arete Diamond, we combine cutting-edge technology with artisan tradition. Every piece begins as a digital model in CAD software and ends as a unique creation, with diamonds set by hand under a microscope. The entire process takes weeks and demands micron-level precision.

Step 1 of 5
3D Design (CAD)
Every piece starts in professional CAD software, where we design the shape, dimensions and stone positions with micrometer precision. The software verifies that each diamond fits its place and will be properly set.

Step 2 of 5
Wax Prototype (3D Printing)
From the digital model, a 3D printer creates a wax prototype accurate to thousandths of a millimeter. This step replaces weeks of manual labor and ensures the final piece matches the design exactly.

Step 3 of 5
Casting in Gold
The wax model serves as a mold for casting in gold — we use 14K or 18K gold depending on the customer’s preference. Each casting is carefully inspected; if it doesn’t succeed on the first try, we create a new one.

Step 4 of 5
Setting the Diamonds
Stone by stone, under a microscope. Our experienced goldsmiths set each diamond by hand to ensure a perfect fit and maximum light reflection. Setting a single ring can take an entire day.

Step 5 of 5
Quality Control
The finished piece undergoes multi-stage inspection — from visual checks through dimension measurements to verifying the security of every stone setting. Only after passing inspection does it reach the customer.
