Natural Asscher Diamonds

4068 diamonds found

The Asscher cut is a square step cut with deeply cropped corners that create an octagonal outline and, face-up, a distinctive concentric 'windmill' pattern of light and shadow drawing the eye inward toward the culet. Its open step-facet architecture reveals the interior as clearly as an emerald cut does, so VS2 or better is recommended for a reliably eye-clean stone, and body colour is more visible in step-cut faceting than in brilliant cuts, making H or above advisable; a length-to-width ratio of 1.00–1.05:1 maintains the windmill pattern's defining symmetry.
